Seattle Times Won't Let You Cancel But Will Send You To Collections

Description

I signed up for the digital subscription to the Seattle Times many years ago. We wanted the Sunday paper so we signed up for Sunday delivery. After we weren't reading it, I called and asked to cancel. Repeatedly. Their "customer service" staff won't let you. They'll keep you in the queue for an hour, give you the hard sell, they'll put you on hold, they'll "transfer you to a supervisor", then hang up on you but they won't accept or process a cancellation. So we stopped paying. 2 years ago. We just got a collections notice for $60 from the Seattle Times. And I'm clearly not the only one, judging from the BBB's review page. So when the Seattle Times calls you or gives you some promo gift to get you to sign up, REMEMBER THAT THEY ARE THE HOTEL CALIFORNIA OF NEWSPAPERS - YOU CAN SUBSCRIBE, BUT YOU CAN'T NEVER LEAVE. https://www.bbb.org/us/wa/seattle/profile/newspaper/seattle-times-company-1296-510395/customer-reviews
