Ocean Express is a family owned and operated transportation company specializing in the transportation of fresh and frozen seafood throughout New England, New York, Philadelphia and Maryland. We are looking to fill a dock foreman position within our shipping department. Dock Foreman job Overview: 1) You are responsible for all the action that happens on the dock. 2) You will be in charge of a ten-man loading dock crew, 2 forklift operators and 2 freight sorters. 3) You are responsible for counting all the freight and to make sure it is placed on the correct pallet for the correct destination and to make sure pallets are shrink wrapped and tagged for the correct destination. 4) You will be responsible to correct any paperwork errors and box count errors arising from incorrect shipping documents. 5) You will be responsible to make sure the shrink-wrapped pallets are loaded onto the correct trailers for final delivery. 6) You will be responsible to oversee the cleaning of the loading dock at the end of the night and to lock down the loading dock when finished. 7) You will be responsible for phone calls during the night from drivers with an issue at delivery.
