Description
Hello,
I am a semi-professional musician (40 years old) that recently started a funeral doom/ death/doom project, and I'm looking for a full time drummer that might be interested in playing on new material, as well as learning old material. I recorded the first EP, about 20 minutes of music, in Queens, NY with a professional sound engineer, and I'm ready to work on the next batch of songs.
I can send the music upon request, if you're serious about trying out. As of right now, I'm the primary songwriter and played guitar, bass, bass VI, and synths/keys on the recordings. I also work with another guitar player as well, who played rhythm guitar and cut one lead on the record. Our drummer parted ways amicably as he is in a full time melodic death metal band that gigs.
If you're interested, I'm looking for someone who:
Knows and understands the genre
Is comfortable playing blasts and double bass
Is comfortable under playing in certain sections
Is easy to work with
I'm also looking for someone willing to travel to Westchester, NY. I'd love to be able to rehearse at least once a week or once every two weeks. While the project will primarily be a studio thing, if the offer was right, I'd love to be able to play the songs live in an occasional capacity. I have a professional life outside of music, and would not take the project on full tour outside of maybe a weekender.
Influences:
My Dying Bride (early), Evoken, Shape of Despair, Paradise Lost (early, early), Celtic Frost, Type O Negative, Primitive Man, Dragged into Sunlight, Mortiferum, Spectral Voice.
If you're interested, respond when you can!

How did the internet lead me here?
Very weird.
Hope you find a drummer.
