A rapidly growing, privately-held service company is looking for a highly effective Administrative Assistant. The company is a Michigan-based service provider to corporate, education, industrial and real estate customers. This position is for a full- time Administrative Assistant in the Farmington Hills area. The hours include M-F from 9am to 5pm. Position starts at $16.00 per hour Summary: Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, handles all incoming and outgoing correspondence and otherwise relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative detail by performing the following duties. What the position requires: Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence to be answered by employer. Composes and types routine correspondence. Proficient using word and excel. Learn and implement new technology. Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records. Answers and screens managers schedule and makes appointments. Greets scheduled visitors and conducts to appropriate area or person. Arranges and coordinates travel schedules and reservations. Conducts research, and compiles and types statistical reports. Coordinates and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities. Makes copies of correspondence or other printed materials. Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes. Orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for equipment maintenance. Assist Sales Department with creating job proposals. Education and/or Experience: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
