We have a beautiful harlequin macaw, unfortunately we have to part with him due to us having chronic health issues. He is a big bird, not suitable for a home with children as he’s never been around them. He has a vocabulary of around fifty words. He’s in excellent health and feather. He steps up and loves to walk around on your arm or shoulder. He has a huge cage, and a huge stand that he comes out on during the day. He will tell you when he wants to go to bed, and if he’s hungry for a treat. He loves the T.V. He has been raised around other animals, dogs and even horses! His wings are not clipped as he enjoys flying around the house. If he goes outside he must be harnessed. We will only let him go to an experienced home. Not suitable for apartment living, or if you have very close neighbors as he flock calls every morning and evening, which is very very loud! But that’s the only time he does it, for around a minute or so. He is fourteen and a half. All parrots bite:-) he has rarely bitten, and when he has it’s usually because I’ve frightened him, and it wasn’t ever hard enough to draw blood. If you work all day, he is not for you, he loves company. He is not free and his price is very reasonable for a bird of this character. He comes with his cage and stand.
