CT born/LA based Singer, Songwriter, Producer Jackie Lipson, former NBC The Voice contestant, is in town for one night to perform! Jackie Lipson is a soulful pop singer and songwriter from suburban Connecticut. Jackie was constantly surrounded by music at home growing up, which inspired an obsession with Broadway musicals and an eventual move to Manhattan, New York for college. Identifying as a queer, femme woman who has faced a life-long struggle to find jeans that fit both her ass and calves, Jackie spent a lot of time and energy mitigating where she belonged in the world. She found community in the NYC queer scene and political spaces, and ultimately directed her energy into songwriting and performing. In 2015, Jackie was featured on the 10th Season of NBC’s The Voice. Shortly after, Jackie transitioned to life in Los Angeles where she has lived for four years with her life-partner, her cat Ling. Jackie has performed at notable venues such as Black Rabbit Rose and Hotel Café in Hollywood. She has been mentored in songwriting by Suzan Koc, opened for Rebecca Black, and performed alongside fellow The Voice alum Kylie Rothfield. Her vocal tone stirs memories of Amy Winehouse with a range and quality all her own. Jackie’s writing is influenced by the music she grew up listening to, the vulnerability and raw emotion of the 90s and early 2000s indie/pop-rock. Her new solo project to be released in 2020 mixes soul with catchy, bold melodies overlaying dreamy, ethereal guitar and synth pop hooks — think if MUNA and H.E.R. did IVF. Jackie was born with music in her blood and cats in her bed.
