Join us for in-person Advent, morning of quiet prayer, meditation and Lectio Divina with Singer/Songwriter Jacquelyn Darragh. In our busy December days, it is all too easy to get all wrapped up in all our preparations and miss preparing our souls. With all we do in Advent and all we do to Advent, it is a miracle we survive let alone have time to turn up at the manger. As Mary wrapped the Babe in swaddling clothes and gazed on the Beloved, come spend some time in stillness, wrapping Jesus about yourself, immersing yourself in the Word, and allow God to gaze upon you, lingeringly and lovingly. Come rest in calm and tranquility, surrounded in the peace-full serenity of the Emmaus Spirituality Center. Light lunch will be provided. Jacquelyn Darragh is the music director for St. Juan Diego Catholic Church in Pasadena. A singer/songwriter, she has written and produced 5 collections of Christian music and an Advent single, Do You Remember? For more than 30 years, Jacque has served as a retreat leader, spiritual director, workshop facilitator and pastoral musician. She brings her gifts of music, humor and storytelling to help retreatants find refreshment and spiritual renewal. She considers fun to be her superpower. A 1996 graduate of the Cenacle Spiritual Direction Institute, she holds a master's degree in Counseling and is a board -certified Naturopathic doctor. She is married to and is in private practice with husband and Chiropractor Thomas, and they are continually inspired by their two children and five grandchildren.
