Join us for a guided hike along Cabelands Trail while we discuss all the reasons to be thankful for our beautiful Eno!
Looking to express some gratitude for the natural world this Thanksgiving season? Join us for a morning spent hiking the beautiful Eno and reflecting on the ways humans have used the river historically, as well as how the Eno continues to benefit humans today! We will visit a few historic structures, such as the Cabe homestead and mill, and tell the stories of indigenous peoples, slaves, and settlers who made the Eno River and surrounding land their home. We will also talk about how we can continue to give thanks to the Eno today by doing our part to protect and preserve it. The trail is about 1.2 miles long with easy to moderate terrain.
Quiet, well behaved dogs on a leash are allowed. 2 hour program. Suggested ages 8 and up. Limited to 12 hikers, masks required. $5 for general public, $3 for Eno River Association members and children under 18.
DIRECTIONS: Meet in the Cabelands parking lot, at the end of Howe Street, off of Sparger Road in Durham (4950 Howe Street, Durham NC, 27705)
