Studio Z, a Design+Build firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial building is looking for a full time Construction Apprentice. If you have ever been interested in construction, design, and general building, but have limited experience, this job may be for you. We are looking for individuals who are capable of and willing to perform physical tasks such as driving pick-up trucks to retrieve and deliver project materials and tools, cleaning job sites, occasional labor work, etc. Little to no experience in construction welcomed. We can teach you! Interest in construction and design preferred. Knowledge with lumber yards, plumbing supplies and electrical supplies preferred. QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED: *Must be able to drive a truck and posses a valid California driver license (Must have a clean driving record meaning no accidents or incidents or violations in the last 3 years) *Must be able to lift heavy materials (80 lbs easily) *Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely (must speak English fluently, Spanish helpful) *Must have reliable transportation to make it to work on time everyday. *Minimum of 1 year in the construction industry. *Must be detail oriented. *Must be familiar with or have some knowledge of various power tools/hand tools/lumber/electrical-plumbing materials/etc. *Willing and enthusiastic about learning all of the construction trades DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF APPRENTICE: *Safely transport equipment and materials to job sites in a timely, safe and courteous manner *Maintain and clean up of job sites on a daily basis *Adhere to all safety requirements particular to the equipment, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations *Organization and cleanup of tools *Maintain Truck Equipment/Inventory *Maintain the service and appearance of assigned truck This position requires an individual that is organized, assertive reliable and capable of good communication practices. In addition to the above responsibilities, this position reports to the project assistant and general contractor to receive daily tasks and overall direction. Position advancement within Studio Z is self-paced. Individuals who demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and with dedication to their tasks will be promoted accordingly. We manage our team and keep them busy all year, rain or shine, pandemic or not. We are looking for individuals seeking full time employment and desiring to become an integral asset to our team. Compensation: $20-25/hr. (Depends greatly on experience) Position includes paid days off, and some benefits included with the hourly salary.
