NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course - $175 AVGC Members use the gate code for a $25 discount Prerequisites: You must have taken the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course as a student. This is class is available at Apple Valley Gun Club 8/4/2022 OR 9/15/2022 . Pre-Registration is required at www.avgc.eventbrite.com You also must have had Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last 2 years. The BIT class is available 8/14/2022 10AM-4:30PM. Pre-Registration is required at www.HighDesertFirearmTraining.eventbrite.com Required Materials: Pistol (Semi-automatic or Revolver), 200 rounds of factory new ammunition (no reloads), eye & ear protection, extra magazine or speed-loader. Bring a highlighter, notepad & your book from when you took this class as a student. (If you need a replacement book they will be available at the class for $25) Course includes classroom and range time learning the knowledge and skills to teach the sport of shooting handguns. Role-playing is a major part of an instructor course. Candidates take turns working in teams conducting portions of the course to other candidates who portray basic students. Instructor Candidates will learn how to teach the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Please remember NRA Instructor Courses are performance-based courses. Instructor Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for this level of training. You are not paying to automatically pass and become an NRA Instructor. You pay to have the opportunity to pass and become an NRA Instructor. Classes, training and / or certification are for individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law. Individuals who have been convicted of a crime of violence are disqualified. In compliance with U.S. Federal ITAR Regulations, Student must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Resident with a Green Card.
