NRA Instructor for Personal Protection In The Home Course The goal of this course is to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Personal Protection In The Home Course. Prerequisites: You must already be a NRA Pistol Instructor. If you need a Pistol Instructor class, it is available 1/22/2022 at High Desert Firearm Training. Pre registration is required at http://HighDesertFirearmTraining.Eventbrite.com You must have taken an NRA (BIT) Basic Instructor Training Class within 2 years of adding a credential . If you need a NRA (BIT) Class it is available either 2/4/2022 or 3/18/2022 at High Desert Firearm Training. Pre-Registration is required at http://HighDesertFirearmTraining.Eventbrite.com You must have taken NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Class as a student. It is available at Apple Valley Gun Club 2/26/2022. Pre-Registration is required at www.avgc.eventbrite.com Required Materials: Pistol, 200 rounds of factory new ammunition (no reloads), eye & ear protection, extra magazines, gun belt, holster (must completely cover the trigger guard) and a mag pouch. Bring your book you received when you took the student class, an empty 2 inch three-ring binder, highlighter, and a notepad. This 9-hour course includes classroom and range time learning the knowledge and skills to teach Personal Protection In The Home. Roleplaying is a major part of an instructor course. Candidates take turns working in teams conducting portions of the course to other candidates who portray basic students. Please remember NRA Instructor Courses are performance-based courses. Instructor Candidates must possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for this level of training. You are not paying to automatically pass and become an NRA Instructor. You pay to have the opportunity to pass and become an NRA Instructor.
