WYANDANCH, NY — A 41-year-old man is injured Friday, after he got involved in a fight and was shot, Suffolk County police said. According to police, a group of teenagers engaged in a fight on Jamaica Avenue, between 32nd Street and 31st Street, at about 2:05 p.m. Adult family members of the teenagers responded to the scene, police said, and became involved in the altercation. During the fight, a Wyandanch man was shot in the cheek by another man, police said. The victim was taken by Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
