After over a decade in office, Tim Howard is leaving his post, and opening an opportunity for one of the three candidates. Kim Beaty is the Democratic candidate, John Garcia is running on the Republican line, and Ted DiNoto is the independent pick. (WGRZ.com) Catholic Health is following through on its strategy to pull healthcare benefits for striking CWA employees as contract negotiations stall, now on day 31. Catholic Health told the union on October 25 that if a deal wasn't reached by October 30 that striking employees' health benefits would get pulled. (WIVB.com - News 4) The Buffalo Police Department is investigating a double shooting over the weekend. Police say two men arrived at ECMC in a personal vehicle early Sunday morning just after midnight. Both men had been shot. According to a Buffalo Police spokesperson, the shooting happened in the 100 block of Theodore Street, between Genesee Street and Block Street.
