Here are the top stories in San Antonio today: The NICU floor at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio was filled with tiny witches and goblins this Halloween! Thanks to nurses, families and volunteers, the babies in the NICU unit were dressed in adorable costumes to celebrate their very first Halloween! There were mermaids, pirates and superheroes everywhere! It was a "boo-tiful" sight that made everyone smile, To view pictures of the little ones dressed up in costumes, visit: (KSAT San Antonio)"Tacos and Tamales and Pan de Muerto, Oh My!" David Elder of Texas Eats shares some hot spots to get your tamales and tacos and Pan de Muerto (Bread of the Dead), a traditional Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) pastry. Also, KSAT anchor/reporter Alicia Barrera and Chef Johnny Hernandez talk about the Day of the Dead tradition and what it means to them. Watch "Texas Eats" on Saturdays at 10 a.m. on KSAT 12, KSAT.com and KSAT's streaming app and visit: (KSAT San Antonio)Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) "is not Mexican Halloween" says Williams Sandria, an 8th grader at Woodlawn Academy. He says it "is meant for celebrating the dead with food, drinks, and parties the dead enjoyed." The tradition "once seen as dark and occult" is now viewed as a joyful and respectful celebration of past lives, where people set up beautiful altars "to honor relatives, friends, and even pets who have died." To read more about the tradition and about various altars around town, visit: (Texas Public Radio) The Frida Kahlo Oasis exhibition will have its closing celebration on Monday, Nov. 1 and Tuesday, Nov. 2 from 6-9 p.m at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, located at 555 Funston Place. During the traditional Mexican Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, the artist's life will be honored with ofrendas (offerings), activities and food and drinks for purchase. You can also honor your own departed loved ones by remembering happy moments with them, while enjoying the beautiful and peaceful grounds at the Botanical Gardens. To purchase tickets, visit: (San Antonio)This week the historic Pearl serves "as a place of remembrance and reflection" where people can honor the Alamo City and those who have passed. A beautiful altar was created for that purpose by local artists and sisters, Manola and Maria Ramirez, who were commissioned by the Pearl this year "to create the ofrenda (offering) for the community." The altar which is filled with marigolds and catrinas, also has a section where people can "light a digital candle for their loved one by scanning a QR code," and it is on display at the Pearl until Sunday, Nov. 7.
