BOULDER, CO — A suspect remained at large early Sunday morning after shots were fired near the University of Colorado Boulder, CU police said. No injuries were reported. A shelter-in-place was issued for all residence hall students just after midnight, but the order was lifted around an hour later after the armed suspect wasn't found, CU police said. Some students hid in bathrooms and closets while the search was underway, according to social media posts. "The suspect was not located," CU Boulder said in an alert update posted at 2 a.m. "Campus police will continue with increased patrols on and around campus as planned for the Halloween weekend. No further information is available at this time. We will continue to provide updates here if more information becomes available." The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, around 5-foot-4, with a chubby build, CU police said. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with red stripes on the sleeves, and a white jersey over top with the No. 76 on the back. Anyone with information is asked to call Boulder police at 303-441-3333 and reference case 2110432. The latest CU police updates can be found here.
