Officially called the United Nations Climate Change Conference, the climate summit began in Glasgow, Scotland yesterday and will aim to find solutions to make cities, states, and countries around the world more resilient to climate change. Cownie is currently leading Des Moines' ambitious sustainability goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 45 percent by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
