The deputy, who had been sworn in just over a month ago, was off-duty in the home she shared with her husband, Jaquavia Jackson, 28, and her 17-month-old child. The child was not harmed. Masks became optional Wednesday in schools and administrative buildings in the cities of Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs, but must still be worn on buses. The mask rules in the three cities were lifted after the rate of COVID-19 infections there fell below 100 cases per 100,000 residents over a 14-day period, a threshold that indicates the difference between a "high" and a "moderate" rate of spread. In order to meet the district's mask-removal guidelines, cities must meet that threshold for two consecutive data reports, as computed by the Fulton County Board of Health.
