11:00 a.m. program (10:30 show your vaccination card, if you have not yet shown it) 12:00 noon lunch ($2) 2515 Fillmore Street, Calvary Church Mask required 10:30 vaccination card check (if not already checked in earlier at Calvary) 11:00 fun lecture -Have you ever known or worked with an “impossible genius”? If so, you know something of Ludwig van Beethoven. In this lecture, we will look at the “Battles”—Love, Money, War, and Health—that so vexed him all his life. And vexed others, who considered him a “genius” but sighed constantly and in vain over his “impossible” personality. Musical snippets from his opera “Leonora/Fidelio”, the piano sonata “Les Adieux”, and his orchestral piece “Wellington’s Victory” will perk up your ears and have you humming the rest of the day! noon: Soup & Salad Lunch ($2). As we enter the fall season, with unknowns about how Covid (and seasonal flu, colds, etc.) will progress, we plan to meet IN PERSON on November 2 and December 7.
