Description

covering John Prine, Charlie Daniels (is there a strong fiddler around here?), Waylon & Willie... but also reworking great songs from other genres into an acoustic twang-rock style like the above artists. Anything from the Talking Heads and other 80's gems to Muddy Waters to Zeppelin's acoustic stuff to Beatles to Hendrix to possibly some originals. Open to working with another singer, male or female, who is also an instrumentalist and likes harmonies. Seeking drummer who likes working with mostly acoustic, lower volume players; fiddle and/or guitarist who plays stronger lead than I do; bassist or multi-instrumentalist who plays some bass; mandolin? or if electric piano player is interested that would be cool... When I was in my 20's I sang and strummed and wrote songs for a small-time, hard-working bar band, and I'm not looking to live that lifestyle again or focus on "making it" to the big leagues, and I'm not looking to have a lot of alcohol mixed in with practicing or gigs. I have a kid who is my priority and with me half-time, but I miss making quality music with other like-minded players, and if we form something tight I am open to do a couple of gigs per month. I can double on bass, a uke if there's another guitar, some harmonica. I have some instruments and other gear on hand and a place to practice. Hope to practice about once a week on weekday early evening, but I can do a weekend practice a couple times a month alterntely. I don't care about your age but when I was 22 and gigging a lot I would have thought someone my age was too old. I hope you find your jam either way, and contact me if you are proficient and this sounds interesting. singer songwriter country funk rock roll harmonies mature I should have said something about Johnny Cash, Springsteen, Billy Joe Shaver
