Description
We became aware of a cat colony residing in a Moses Lake parking lot of which many looked to have upper respiratory infections. After much consideration a month ago, we decided to be guardians of these precious kitties, so we purchased and set up three large crates in our garage and one in the house and caught all 7 cats.
One cat needed immediate veterinary care as he could barely breathe. The vet diagnosed that it was an upper respiratory infection but after a week of antibiotics and eye steroid his symptoms hadn’t improved, and we noticed that the cat was now gasping for air. We took him to the vet again and our vet ran several extensive tests and determined that his throat was obstructed and removed a polyp the size of a golf ball from the back of his throat. This kitty is now eating and drinking water and putting on much needed weight to regain his strength and has began purring for the first time.
The shelters aren’t taking cats right now and unless socialized the fate of their lives is uncertain. We need help re-socializing these precious cats so that these cats can get further veterinary care and be adopted and placed in forever loving homes.
Right now, between cages, food, litter, toys, blankets, heating pads, litter boxes, treats, and veterinary care we are in over $2,000.
If anyone can offer assistance, donate time with helping socialize these cats, donate food or litter, assistance with social media to help get these kitties adopted, or donate directly to our vet for veterinary care to have these cats examined, tested, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and given proper medical treatment, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Together we can save one life at a time.
