Hi, Looking for pipe-layers with experience in concrete and corrugated pipes. Our pipe layers work outside in public areas. Individuals must carry themselves professionally. Proper attention to safety and consistent use of PPE including safety toed boots, reflective vests/shirts, hard hats, and safety glasses are required. Jobsites vary throughout Florida State. Must be able to travel to various jobsites. Regular hours are anywhere from 7:00-5:30 M-F with occasional night or weekend work required. Crews generally work 40-50+ hours per week. This position is perfect for the individual that likes to work outside and enjoys physical work. The work requires getting in and out of excavations, lifting heavy parts, working as a team, and being always aware of your surroundings and safety risks. Work includes placement of large water, sewer, and stormwater pipes, asphalt restoration, concrete restoration, placing dirt and rock, shoveling, and a variety of other construction activities. Phones shall not be used on while engaged in any construction activities during work as it is a safety risk to the workers and the public. We are a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Pay is dependent on experience. Experienced underground utility pipe layers to join our drainage installation crews for underground utilities. Some Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure pipes and structures are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels. Configure pipe routes. Align pipes in pipeline sections. Dig trenches with trenching tools. Slide pipe into trenches. Tell tractor driver where to move pipe Pull out defective or misaligned pipes. Inspect places where pipes are fitted together to ensure pipes are spaced out properly and according to specifications. Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Grade trenches or culverts. Seal joints. Use glue to ensure pipes are tightly fitted. Cover pipes with dirt or other material. Minimum of 2 years' experience with storm drainage installations preferred. Will work in wet conditions. Experience in south Florida a plus. Must be a team player, reliable and organized, willing to work in other areas as needed. Must be able to perform physical labor on construction sites. Must have experience working in a fast pace, demanding environment. Timeliness, and pride in your work product are essential for success in this position. Multiple locations within Florida State.
