ChessPalace is hosting a beginner’s rated & non-rated chess tournament (Game 30 min) at SteelCraft Garden Grove. Our chess club, ChessPalace, is hosting an Amateur & Action chess tournament at SteelCraft Garden Grove. Open to beginner players of all ages, this event is a great way to start playing chess with others over the board or to get introduced to tournament play. (Beginners are approximately 1200 or below in chess rating or complete novices without a chess rating.) The tournament will have a section for those who want rated games and another for non-rated games. Players will be allocated to a group of about 6-10 players (depending on the total registrants) and they will play each opponent in their group. Sign in between 11:30 - 11:50 am and games starts 12:00 pm. Chess boards and pieces will be available to borrow. If you would like to bring your own, you’re welcome to as well. Entry Fee: $30 ($40 onsite) ChessPalace is a chess club in the Orange County, California area. We are located at 5246 Lampson Ave. Garden Grove, CA near where the 405 freeway and the 22 freeway intersect. We host chess tournaments, offer classes and lessons, and sell chess books and merchandise.
