Serbian hit movie TOMA, a romantic portrait of the star folk singer Toma Zdravkovic, premieres in Los Angeles at the Fine Arts Theater

"TOMA" November 20th @ 7 p.m., Fine Arts Theater SURPRISE SPECIAL GUESTS, VIP AFTER PARTY So, join us to cry and laugh with our Toma on the BIG SCREEN at this one-time-only Fine Arts Theater special screening. This film is an emotional account of the Serbia superstar folk singer, Toma Zdravkovic, the man who is remembered not only for his songs and the unique way he was singing them, but also as a bohemian, both in his behavior and his soul.
With already 800,000 viewers, the film Toma explores both the very beginnings of his career and the height of his fame. Pivotal moments in his career are seamlessly woven into his complicated relationships with the women he loved, who inspired him to compose some of his greatest hits. Not to be forgotten are a huge number of lively friends he had in the artistic milieu of former Yugoslavia who create eccentric storylines of their own enriching Toma's story.
In addition to Toma, the film shows the lives of well-known artists of that time: Zoran Radmilovic, Mika Antic, Tozovac. The film follows two lines: 1991 - the relationship between Toma and a doctor who starts Toma's treatment, and how it evolves into a friendship. The second line is about Toma's life - from childhood in Pechenjevci to a friendship with the singer Silvana Armenulic, that will have a crucial effect to his career and private life, to the time when he reached unfathomed popularity, but also touched the bottom of life.
