John UC student volunteers from the Berkeley Project removing ivy from Berkeley's John Hinkel Park We'll use hand tools to remove ivy from the "top" of Berkeley's John Hinkel Park, making space for varied, drougnt-tolerant natives. Teens and up welcome. Friends of Five Creeks will supply tools, gloves, and light snacks. Bring a re-usable water bottle. Dress in layers, prepared to get dirty, and wear sturdy shoes with good traction. The location is across the street from the address given (797 San Diego Rd.) Parking is scarce. Be prepared to walk a short distance, possibly up steep steps from the "bottom" of the park on Somerset Place.
