Here are the top stories today in Irving: Residents all over North Texas faced windy conditions on Thursday, with gusts topping 45 mph. Local weather services reported that over 100,000 households lost power in the area, including communities such as McKinney, Dallas and Arlington. Flights were delayed, and authorities issued grass fire warnings because of the extreme weather conditions. Tune in to WFAA.com to learn the cause of winds like these. A new clinic is opening, set to serve those living in the five ZIP codes within Dallas County that have the lowest life expectancy. Parkland's Red Bird Clinic will offer an alternative to Parkland's emergency department for basic primary care, which is where many residents sought care in the past. Clinic reps say they expect to provide 18,000 primary care visits as well as 23,000 women's specialty health visits each year. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)A crash shut down Interstate 30 at Fielder Road in Arlington for about five hours on Thursday. The accident occurred around 5:00 AM, causing extreme morning traffic delays as drivers were forced to detour. Police haven't released details of the crash yet.
