PORTLAND, OR — As parents storm school board meetings and law enforcement officers sue to reverse mask and vaccine mandates, the number of new coronavirus cases across the state remains high.
On Wednesday there were around 1,100 new cases and on Thursday the number had claimed to 1,420.

Meanwhile, there were 14 more deaths reported, bringing Oregon's total to 4,372 since the pandemic began.
Hospitals are continuing to feel the strain.
There are fewer than 10 percent of adult beds available in hospitals.
