GREEN COAST BUILDING SERVICES JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Floor Care Team Leader or Floor Care manager, this position is responsible for performing Floor Care duties. Floor Care Technician performs cleaning of flooring surfaces of offices, restrooms, lobbies, hallways, cafeterias, and other general use areas per specific customer schedule by performing the following duties: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to: 1. Follow instructions by Team Leader or Supervisor, which can be obtained from work order, i.e. customer information, address, alarm code, floor cleaning procedure, specific chemical to use, special instructions, etc. 2. Drive own vehicle directly to work site when required. 3. Drive company vehicles when required. 4. Loading and unloading floor cleaning equipment and supplies. 5. Obstacles and light furniture moving, sweeping, vacuuming, scrapping, knee edging, chemical dilution, spraying, applying, mopping, etc. 6. Use of floor cleaning equipment, low speed buffer, high speed buffer, auto scrubber, wet vacuum, scraper, edging tool, floor finish applicator, sprayer, carpet wand, XL20, RX20, upholstery tool, stair tool, pressure washer, truckmount, etc. 7. Meet’s company standards for customer satisfaction. 8. Cleans equipment after completion of work. Dependability - Commits to long hours of work when needed, week night, weekends, last minute schedule changes, etc. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Education and/or Experience - High School diploma, general education degree (GED) or Basic Floor Care Course; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and Three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers, ability to print and speak simple sentences. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common understanding to carry out simple one – or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with or no variables. Certificate, License, Registrations: California Driver’s License.
