Hi, Please check out my Inverted Second Line drum solo, Variation 2. This is not that musical, to be honest, but it turned into the Inverted Flam Groove (The IFG is at 0'36" of this solo). Try the two bar pattern I send you with the right hand on the ride cymbal, or on the floor tom, or whatever two sound sources you want. Once you get it down with the bass drum on quarter notes, try different bass drum rhythms (1 and 3, eighths, samba ostinato, or a traditional second line). The left foot can close the hi hat on the "ands" or quarter notes, or 2 and 4, eighths, etc. Each week add another element and challenge to your IFG project. First week, just get the hands down, then add the bass on quarters, than one and three, so on. Add the left foot in. I may have transcriptions for some elements within the larger V2 solo and I am also offering lessons.
