It's beginning to look a lot like cocktails. This class combines the history and mixology of our favorite holiday and winter tipples. In the holiday classic, It's a Wonderful Life, the angel Clarence enters a bar with George Bailey whom he just saved from drowning. George orders a double bourbon. Clarence, whose last visit to earth seems to have been sometime in the 1700s, requests a "flaming rum punch." These 2 tipples are the inspiration for our holiday cocktail class -- bourbon and flaming punch. Yes, there will be fire. Beginning with a historic punch from England, and one of Charles Dickens' favorites. Then Hogwash Whiskey Den's master mixologist, Simon, will guide you through 2 additional cocktails featuring whiskey and infused bourbon. Your mixology lessons will be complete with the correct use of the barkeep's tools and techniques. And cocktail historian, Renée, with Raising the Bar will illuminate the stories and history behind these classic drinks. Class set-up includes bartending stations with all the necessary tools, fresh-made and prepped ingredients, and vintage glassware. Shake, swirl, and sip in style as you deepen your knowledge of cocktails and develop your palate. Tickets are $65.00 per person. MUST BE 21 and over. Class is limited to 24 guests. Ticket includes three crafted drinks, mixology and history lessons, appetizer, and souvenir recipe booklet. Celebrate the season in the warmth and ambiance of Hogwash Whiskey Den.
