Join Southwestern Idaho Birders Association for a full day of looking for the early winter birds of Long Valley. Time: 8:00 am Horseshoe Bend or 9:00 am at Clear Creek Station Location: Meet at the Chevron Parking Lot in Horseshoe Bend. A second rendezvous at Clear Creek Station, 10694 ID-55, Cascade. It is at the corner of Cabarton Road & Highway 55. (Roughly 6 miles S. of Cascade and 40 Miles N. of Horseshoe Bend.) We will be looking for early winter birds up the North Fork of the Payette river to Cascade Lake. Based on weather, we are hoping to see winter finches, Rough-legged hawks or perhaps a Northern Shrike. Or maybe a Scoter, a Loon, or a Long-tailed Duck on the lake. Plan on a full day. Bring water, snacks, warm clothes, and a lunch.
