Press release from the City of Charleston:
October 28, 2021
The City of Charleston and John Brawley Post 20 of the American Legion will host a Veterans Day parade and ceremony on Thursday, November 11. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. A short ceremony will take place immediately after the parade and will include guest speaker, United States Marshal Michael T. Baylous.
"We are so blessed to honor our veterans -- in person -- for their service to our state and nation," said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. "We encourage folks to line the streets of Charleston to celebrate these heroes."
Ed Converse of the John Brawley Post 20 reminds us that, "we, the living, owe this to the ones who no longer can narrate their story of valor and supreme sacrifices. This community is proud to support the true sons of the soil and commemorates their contributions on the 80th year of celebrating Veterans Day in this very patriotic community."
