SARASOTA, FL — A bicyclist was seriously injured after hitting the back of an unoccupied truck parked in a bicycle lane on Dog Kennel Road Friday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said. The cyclist, a 77-year-old Lakewood Ranch man, was heading north on Dog Kennel Road in the bicycle lane, north of Fruitville Road, when he collided with the truck around 9:40 a.m., FHP said. He was brought to a hospital in the area in serious condition.
