Here are the top stories today in Salt Lake City: Cody Facer, 39, a West Jordan man with a history of drunk driving and evading police was charged Friday with slamming into another car while again fleeing from officers, killing a popular Salt Lake entrepreneur. Thy Hoang Vu, 33, also known as Thy Vu Mims, a Salt Lake entrepreneur, one of the founders of Mims Bakery, and a community activist, was killed. A passenger in Vu's vehicle was also critically injured. A dog that was inside Mims' vehicle also died in the crash. Facer's blood alcohol level was seven times the legal limit in Utah. (KSL.com)Primary Children's Hospital continues to see a higher number of kids needing treatment for COVID-19 compared to last year, more than two months after school resumed, a hospital leader said Friday. Kids comprise about 20% of Utah's new coronavirus cases, Primary officials noted, and about half of those cases are between the ages of 5 and 10. Primary Children's Hospital is seeing an average of eight to 12 children each day due to COVID-19 with three to five of those children, on average, in the intensive care unit.
