CLEARWATER BEACH, FL — Just in time for Halloween weekend, the city of Clearwater lifted its boil water advisory Friday following water main damage caused by a construction crew working in Coachman Park, the city said. Residents who have Clearwater Public Utilities accounts on Clearwater Beach, Sand Key and Island Estates do not need to boil their water as a precautionary measure, the city said. According to officials, construction crew members inadvertently struck a water main Wednesday. Some customers experienced low and no water pressure after the break occurred. A precautionary boil water notice had been sent out to the areas affected. Officials said lab results showed the water is safe to use and drink.
