GROTON, CT — A pilot project of two new energy-efficient, eight-unit apartment buildings have opened at the Pequot Village Housing Development, according to The New London Day. The new buildings include roofs with solar shingles, geothermal heating and cooling, and larger apartments. A Groton Housing Authority official said she hopes that the buildings—which replaced two buildings at the site—"represent just the start of more to come." The authority hopes to renovate the rest of the property, which currently features studio and one-bedroom apartments. Read the full story in The New London Day.
