My friend with the Ravens tie

Description

Thanks for the smile today. It was a fun coincidence for sure. I grew up in Baltimore and over the years attended Colts, Stars, Stallions, and Ravens games in Memorial Stadium. I saw Johnny Unitas face off against the Bears with Gale Sayers there. I also was at the very first Ravens home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It poured that day but we had seats under the upper deck and stayed dry. And the Ravens won 31-17. I was also fortunate enough to attend a couple of games at M&T Stadium before I left Baltimore in the early 2000's. They stumbled last week, so I especially appreciate and admire your team spirit and pride. You have inspired me to start wearing my team regalia more regularly. I have an embarrassing amount that I have received as gifts over the years - 2001 AFC Champions and Super Bowl Champions t-shirts, an official #8 Jackson jersey, sweat pants, knit cap, wool socks, hoodie, and official NFL leather jacket that a dear friend gave me for Christmas years ago. In the before days I used to head to the local sports bar decked out head-to-toe. I have faith that Lamar can rally them to a winning stretch in the playoffs. I think Lamar Jackson is the most phenomenal football player who has ever put on cleats. He is a joy to watch perform. He is also a joy to watch in interviews. His authenticity touches my heart in ways that few public figures ever have. Anyway it was a very cool interaction today. Now I know that I wasn't the only person in Eugene rooting for the Ravens two weeks ago. (I like Herbert a lot as well.) Take care and Go Ravens!
