Description

Press release from City of Fort Worth: October 25, 2021 Tarrant County Public Health is now offering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster doses. Pfizer vaccine booster doses have already been available. The follow-up vaccinations boost the immune response in people who already had the initial doses. For those who received a dose of Johnson & Johnson more than two months ago, everyone is now eligible for a second dose. Booster doses are now available for those who received either Moderna or Pfizer six or more months ago, who also meet one of these criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control: 65 years and older. Age 18 and up who live in long-term care settings. Age 18 and up who have underlying medical conditions. Age 18 and up who work or live in high-risk settings. Those eligible for their booster dose are encouraged to get their vaccination from their local pharmacy or another vaccine clinic. Eligible people may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. CDC's recommendations now allow for mix-and-match dosing for booster shots. However, it is still recommended to get the booster for the same vaccine type that was originally administered, but it is not a requirement anymore. COVID-19 vaccines are free to recipients, whether they are insured or uninsured.     Get articles like this in your inbox. Subscribe to City News.
