JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man pleaded guilty to charges relating to the July 2020 crash that killed pedestrian Charnell Lytch who was hit and killed on Garfield Avenue in Jersey City. Bahsil Marsh, age 26, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to charges of death by automobile and driving while intoxicated. The plea agreement calls for the defendant to be sentenced in the third degree range with theState recommending a sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison subject to the No EarlyRelease Act along with a consecutive ten-year driver's license suspension. Officials said Lytch was taken to the hospital by Marsh in his car after she was hit. Marsh remained at the hospital and officers determined he was under the influence and driving with a suspended license, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. Lytch later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:48 p.m. Sentencing in the case is scheduled for December 15, 2021 before Judge Arre.
