Packaging & Affinage Assistant: This position is a hybrid between our packaging and affinage teams, providing a valuable support role in each area. The first half of the shift is working in line with affinage team in the flipping and post make caring of the cheese and then transitions to the packaging team. Affinage Responsibilities: Perform an assortment of assisted tasks on the affinage team which is the caring of the cheese post cheese production. • Assist in treatment of care of aging cheese: includes cleaning cheese in aging rooms, flipping cheese wheels, moving cheese from one room to another • Assist with cheese shredding when needed on pizza cheese days • Assist and keep traceability of moving cheese through aging phases of the facility • Accurately keep track of all Affinage forms for Food Safety Program • Communicate Effectively with Packaging Lead and Shipping Lead • Properly complete all required sanitation documentation in a timely manner for affinage section Packaging Responsibilities: Perform an assortment of tasks to ensure traceability and inventory of cheeses is accurately represented for Shipping team. • Assist with daily scheduled packaging schedule • Assist in packaging needed cheeses using the proper packaging equipment • Maintain & Understand batch coding system for inventory traceability • Use and work with soap, chemical, and sanitizer foamers to spray down used packaging equipment • Properly complete all required packaging for the day in a timely manner • Assist in the packaging inventory inside production with Packaging Lead. Qualifications: • Prior sanitation or food manufacturing experience preferred, but not required • Positive attitude and reliable attendance • Reliable Transportation • Strong work ethic to follow through all tasks until completed well • Willing to work collaboratively with the team, as well as efficiently with little supervision • Clean & tidy appearance • strict adherence with food safety standards • Able to work in a humid & hot environment, lift up to 50 lbs, climb, stoop, crouch and kneel as needed Reports to: Packing Lead & Affinage Lead Schedule: Monday – Friday (and Saturday Availability as needed) 40hrs/week, however due to seasonality peak season hours will increase Benefits: Medical, Sick, Vacation, Holiday, End of the Year Bonus Program, Overtime pay Pay Ranges based on Cheesemaker Levels 1, 2, & 3 ranges anywhere between $16.00 - $25 and based on experience
