The Joslyn Center strives to embody and impart these qualities by providing programs and services that enrich the lives of our members and guests. The Joslyn Center has been an essential part of the local community since 1981. As a nonprofit organization, we provide programs, services and activities for seniors and older adults in the Cove Communities of Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, and throughout the Coachella Valley. The array of innovative programming has been widely recognized as a leader in programming for seniors and older adults with offerings that help maintain health, vitality, and connection with the community. The Joslyn Wellness Center established in 2017 has been recognized as a Program of Excellence by the National Council on Aging/National Institute of Senior Centers. The current campus was built in 1984 through Community Development Block Grant funds and donations from the Joslyn Family Foundation and Penny and Merritt Joslyn. The 20,000 square foot facility is located on a three-acre site and is the largest senior center in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. All adults aged 50 and older, are eligible for membership. Joslyn Center is also the home of the Arthur Newman Theatre presenting entertainment, educational programs and conferences serving all ages. The Joslyn Center is active with the National Council on Aging, National Institute of Senior Centers, Meals on Wheels Association of America, local Chambers of Commerce, Aging Community Team, Office on Aging, and the Cities of Indian Wells, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage.
