Press release from the City of Des Moines: October 27, 2021 The play consisted of first-hand accounts of the events of September 11, which were an important history lesson for the students, and gave them a new appreciation for first responders. "We learned that no matter how hard the challenge is, the fire department will always be there for us," actor Caethen Stocker said. "When the other people are trying to get away from danger, the firefighters are trying to help out and run toward the danger." The donation will go to the Fire Department Trust which will be used to help fund a history display at the Des Moines Fire Department as well as fund the DMFD Honor Guard.
