Newtown Township Supervisor Candidate Addresses Misleading Signs

NEWTOWN, PA — David Oxley, a candidate for Newtown Township Supervisor, has addressed a series of signs that were recently placed along the Newtown Bypass. The signs accuse Oxley of making decisions he says he did not make while a member of the Board of Supervisors, a position he was appointed to last year. One of them reads 'Oxley Voted To Cut Down The Woods' and another saying he voted for a U-turn to be added in the area, something Oxley denies voting for. "I'm not trying to make the township unsafe," Oxley said. "I have no jurisdiction on a U-turn." Oxley said he does not know where the people who made these signs got the idea he was doing any of this and wanted to call attention to the misinformation. He does not know who put them up either. "Residents think that I'm selling them out," Oxley said. "I don't care about the signs; I care what they represent." To him, this, along with the recent vandalism of candidate Nicole Khan's signs, show the deep divide Bucks County, and the country, are currently facing as a result of the political climate of the past few years. "All of this is not a part of the vision," he said. "We all live together, and it shouldn't be this way." He wants the residents of Newtown to know that he has the interests of the Township as a main priority, with budget increases planned to improve infrastructure and the local economy. "The vision I have is being attacked, and I don't know why," he said. "I just want the best for our town."
