Seasoned bass player looking for folks to play with

Mature bassist, been playing for a long time, but have not played regularly with others while raising kids, etc. My background is rock and some fusion (Little Feat, Steely Dan, Peter Gabriel, Weather Report, stuff like that). Influences are Jack Bruce, Berry Oakley, Jaco, Lee Sklar, Geddy Lee, many others. I'd like to find a group of players who get together and jam, and work out tunes we all agree on. Playing for others would be cool, but I'm not looking for a regular work gig. Caveat, I am not into country, country rock, country-influenced, country anything (no offense, just need a bit more of a challenge). Happy to hear from you if you need a good bassist. East Bay is about as far as I can commit to travelling.
