Soul and oldschool R&B project seeking guitar, drums, horns, keys, singers interested in performing live a few times a month. Mostly tribute/cover material not just the hits. The project only works with dedicated professional quality players. I'm a bass player, backup singer.....had a soul group out of NYC for 12 years, produced/released some CDs. Have done blues material as well, lots of rock, but for this project, looking to cover artists such as Johnnie Taylor, Otis Redding, Clarence Carter, Tyrone Davis, Wilson Pickett, Booker T/MGs, Rufus Thomas, Sam & Dave, Little Milton, etc. A lot will depend on the singer(s). I'm also a fan of southern soul artists like Mel Waiters, ZZ Hill, Bobby Rush, Marvin Sease, Bobby Bland. Will need lead and backup singers, solid funky jazzy drummer, sax and other hornfolks, bluesy/jazzy guitarist and classy keysperson for organ and piano.
