TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Northport woman was charged Thursday with multiple counts of theft connected to reports of packages being stolen from people's porches over the last several months. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts Ashley Nichole Hall, 34, was charged with five counts of fourth-degree theft related to cases reported to the Tuscaloosa Police Department. TPD says she is also facing additional charges connected to prior cases being handled by Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office. TPD first received reports in August of a woman with blonde hair stealing packages from porches and leaving in a Honda Pilot. Police then said many of the victims provided investigators with surveillance video that indicated the same suspect had targeted different locations across the area. After receiving a tip Thursday that Hall was driving west on U.S. Highway 11, police were able to locate her at a gas station and take her into custody. The thefts reportedly took place at houses on Seventh Avenue, Ninth Avenue and Homewood Drive near the University of Alabama campus, University Gardens near Cottondale and The Townes of North River. Hall was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail Thursday afternoon and has not yet had bond set. Have a news tip or suggestion on how I can improve Tuscaloosa Patch?
