GORDO, AL — A Gordo woman has been arrested and charged in connection to a federal stimulus check scam, authorities announced on Friday. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts 24th Judicial District Attorney Andy Hamlin says Charlie Antaira Craig, 37, is accused of cashing her federal Economic Impact Payment, before then filing a claim that it had been stolen in order to receive a replacement. Craig was charged with first-degree theft Thursday. As of Friday, Hamlin said she remained in the Pickens County Jail Friday with bond set at $5,000.
