Spartan senior Greer Golden was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Lucy Redden and Hannah Parant also represented Mountian Brook on the all-tournament team. Golden recorded 13 kills in the championship match
"I'm so proud of my team and I'm proud of my fellow seniors," Golden said postgame. "We've led the team all the way to this moment. Throughout this tournament, we showed so much grit and that lit a fire under us."
Gardner wraps up her first season as the Spartans' head coach with a 43-12 record. Mountain Brook defeated St. James and Homewood on Wednesday in the quarterfinal and semi-final rounds to earn the right to play for the title.
