$60.00 For helping us test a NEW Diabetes Glucose Meter. We need Non-Diabetics or Type 1 Diabetics or Type 2 Diabetics or Pre-Diabetics. Monday, November 1, 2021 - Test will take approx. 20-25 Minutes of your time. WHAT WE ARE DOING? We are testing a new Blood Glucose Meter for monitoring diabetes in Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics. We are looking for volunteers to come to our test site and allow us to test YOUR blood glucose level using this NEW Blood Glucose Meter. WHAT WILL HAPPEN? When you call to schedule an appointment we will ask you a few background questions and schedule a time for you to come in. When you arrive you will be asked to read and complete a form telling you what we are doing. We will then have a medical professional perform three "lancet sticks" on your finger, palm and forearm and test the drop of blood from each on a new Blood Glucose Meter. When the above are completed we will have a phlebotomist on site that will collect a little more blood from your finger and will then collect blood from your arm. (Blood Draw) These two samples will be tested again using the NEW Blood Glucose Meter. The samples will then be sent to a laboratory were they will again be tested using another method used for Glucose testing. WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? We are trying to compare the results obtained with the NEW glucose meter and the results obtained with other devices/testing methods already approved and in us at various clinics and hospitals in the US. WHERE and WHEN WILL THIS STUDY TAKE PLACE? We will be in ENCINITAS, CA on MONDAY November 1, 2021 from 9:00am - 3:30pm doing testing. WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR PARTICIPATING? After the paperwork, testing and blood draws are completed you will be able to leave. For volunteering to participate you will be paid $60.00 (Note: the whole process should take about 20-25 minutes.) WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? We are looking for NON-DIABETICS & TYPE 1 / TYPE 2 DIABETICS and PRE-DIABETICS Please Note: If you participate you must wear a mask at all times while at the study. Even if vaccinated. Social distancing is and will be required while you are waiting. (Chairs will be provided for waiting.) If you are suffering from any symptoms of illness or have any symptoms of COVID-19 please do not come. (We will be doing this study each week and will reschedule for a later date if you still want to participate.) If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks please do not come. (Again, once you have received a NEGATIVE test we can then schedule you at a later date.) If there are any questions you can call us at the number below or email us.
