Description
Basic Function: An irrigation technician will include, but are not limited to; performing Commercial property repairs, making adjustments and troubleshooting irrigation systems; such as clock programming, trenching, irrigation heads, valves, pipe replacement, wiring, and general problem identification. The ability to communicate effectively with supervisors is required. A valid Arizona driver’s license and a clean driving record with the ability to process paperwork on a timely matter are a must. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Oversee that assigned projects fulfill obligations spelled out by work orders or contracts • Oversees the design, maintenance and implementation of all components of the irrigation system including mechanical and electrical systems. • Must be able to program all commercial clocks • Common knowledge of commercial Rainbird, Hunter, Irritrol clocks • Make purchases in the most cost efficient manner using proper authorization • Perform irrigation parts inventory on a regular basis, and report to Supervisor • Oversees the repair, preventative maintenance, and records for all equipment associated with irrigation • Report on time to supervisors during dispatch and at end of day • Follow established routine through work order or route • Conform to dress and safety policies • Submit all necessary paperwork – completed work orders, extra work order justifications, T&M's, various inspection reports, etc • Review problems and/or day’s accomplishments with supervisor • Perform irrigation repairs consistent with industry standards • Must attend ongoing training provided by company • Dig and trench • Bend frequently to ground level Knowledge, Qualifications, and Skills: • 3+ years of commercial irrigation experience is a must • Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation • Must report to work in a timely fashion • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
