Description
Gentleman located in Fisherman's Wharf area. Has been street homeless. We pulled together to get him 5 nights in a hotel room so he could clean up, rest, and get his belongings in order. Gave him clean clothes. Hotel manager would not let him continue staying there. He is back on the street and ready to find long-term housing. First he will need his belongings taken to storage, including his wheelchair and a few bags of his things. Ideally would need a pickup truck or a van of some sort. Can cover storage costs and pay for the driver's expenses and time if need be. Would like to get him picked up ASAP. He should be within a one block radius of Fisherman's Wharf Trader Joes. 74 year old Christian fellow who has been through a lot and needs our support!
After his things are stored, he needs to be taken to an avenue that can get him to immediate long-term assistive care. As of current assessment, this will be either the Tom Wadell Urgent Care Clinic or the general hospital, both located in San Francisco proper. We are in communication with staff at both locations and are currently figuring out which location will be more likely to route him to the care that he needs immediately.
If you own a vehicle that can accommodate this, or can rent one, or know someone who has one and has a few hour to spare then we could really use your services right now. This would be a life-changing juncture for this man. Let's band together as a community to get him the care that he needs! It will start raining again in a couple of days so this is time-sensitive! Ideally this will be handled today or tomorrow.
